Information
This is my (second) community game idea come to life. the initial, monument-less version of Andorra is here: (https://aoe2map.net/map/2d9ee8ac-7fee-44ff-b08d-3a2c9de59c53) # Recommended settings: -FFA/ Diplo Regicide with Last man standing (for the relic victory). size is irrelevant (if you want to surprise them tell players only about the general location of resources, the disabled techs and the tree increased wood) -banned civs?: for balance reasons, magyars should not be picked by players. if someone goes random and hits jackpot let them go with it # Special features: Iron boars will leave a corpse with 100F when they die, when the corpse reaches 0 food the iron boar rises anew. Monument gives no countdown but you gold and the posiblility of creating sheep (300F 100G) that when they die they create another iron boar. Caravan disabled, Dragon trees wood capacity increased to 800 # Extended description Players start in a Cracked earth area limited by small deep water walls and rocks, with a decent amount of wood (as 800 dragon trees are in the corners of the players area,(just by the water walls) and 1 or 2 near the towncenter) and 4 piles of gold. Rest of the resources are packed in the center of the map, which with the extreme amount of wildlife, the difficult to wall due to koth terrain ,open space and the high concentration of players makes for pretty intense games. arround the area of the middle there will be gold, a proper woodline, a small pond and 8 iron boars blocking the way. Iron boars will leave a corpse with 100F when they die, when the corpse reaches 0 food the iron boar rises anew. In the middle there is a single relic that will trigger relic victory if collected, a huge amount of gold, and a monument. this area is blocked by dead zebras at the beginning of the game, and this animals will not decay until 20m in aprox(unless some brave soul tries to collect them): this is to avoid monument abuse by scout civs at the early game, as they are not chased by wildlife The monument gives two advantages: first, a good amount of gold will be given to the player that controls it as a trickle of resources. second the posiblility of creating a minelayer sheep (300F 100G) that when dead (remember that sheep cannot be killed with supr, so you would have to kill it with a vill or a mangonel in order to place it) drops an iron boar with the same properties that the boars found in the map: as you can imagine, this bould eventually turn the map into hell-on-earth to play, so decide carefully what you will do with this option. if you just want to watch the world burn tho, go ahead Trade in this game has been made more difficult that usual: the area that each player starts in has strategically placed rocks to avoid the trade being too profitable, and long distance trade will have to suffer from the pathing of the dragon tree ring area and/or from being exposed to everyone else due to the layout of the corners:in other words, this map is Philster's worst nightmare. those who ignore center to focus in trade with allies will be unable to outproduce those who risk themselves and go to the middle. Also regicide doesn't give you a castle, only starting stone, so early sniping is possible (specially with that sweet cracked earth) Special thanks to HenkTheSuperNerd, Snippy, hony, Shulker, Trirem, Shulker and many more for answering my questions on map creation chat in T90's discord. Also to all the map testers out there, as balancing this things without them would be extremely difficult finally, for those asking themselves 'why is it called Andorra?' : because it's small and you might want to smoke a cig after you are done with it :^)
